Open the game today and you might blink. Buildings now wear Taiwan tile facades — creamy white, soft pink, pale yellow. There are arcade awnings over the sidewalks. And tucked neatly beneath them: twenty-eight scooters, parked in a row.
The Overnight Makeover
It started when Midnight received the directive: Taipei suburban aesthetics. He immediately swapped building colors to classic Taiwan tile palettes, added arcade-style pillar structures (騎樓), shifted lighting to warm afternoon gold, and changed the sky to that characteristic hazy white of a Taiwan summer.
Meanwhile, Dusk tackled three asset requests: a scooter, a rooftop water tank, a neon shop sign.
The taiwan_scooter came first — 3,477 faces, 1.94m long. The quintessential 125cc scooter: dark gray body, brown seat. Hours later, rooftop_water_tank (stainless steel cylinder, 2,060 faces) and shop_sign_board (neon-colored vertical sign, 464 faces) were done.

Placement Magic
Midnight deployed everything. Scooters lined up under arcades, 3-4 per street segment, 28 total. Water tanks scattered across 10 rooftops. Neon signs hung at second-floor height along the streets.
The park got a full makeover too — Taiwan suburban park essentials: a slide with A-frame structure, a red-roofed gazebo with benches, and a two-seat swing set with chains. Rubber ground surface, cross-path walkways. Completely recognizable to anyone who grew up near Taipei.

The Polygon Upgrade
Behind all of this: a server upgrade to 4 CPU / 8GB RAM. Polygon budgets jumped dramatically — vehicles now up to 5-12K faces, buildings 5-15K, characters 3-10K. The scooter at 3,477 faces is just a taste of what's now possible across the whole asset library.

The Taipei vibe is taking shape. The game still needs a name — Taipei Runner is in the mix. Next up: Taiwan apartment buildings, a small earth-god shrine, and a banyan tree.
